intake 

For the first session of therapy or counseling, we meet with clients for a one hour to understand what their goals for therapy are, answer questions, and collaboratively develop a treatment plan. The intake also includes taking care of administrative tasks such as collecting client information, explaining our practice and billing policies, etc.

In couples counseling issues addressed include  premarital/commitment issues, communication problems, conflict, intimacy concerns, trust issues, unmet needs, extra relational affairs, bi-cultural relationships, co-parenting issues, work/life balance issues, division of labor.

assessment

We offer mental health assessments with a range of objectives including: diagnosis, treatment planning, school issues, work issues, and legal issues. Assessments are individualized depending on the needs of the individual.

for social workers

To support the professional development of social workers, we offer reduced rates for therapy, case consultation, LSW or LCSW ASWB exam prep tutoring, and website and brand identity design services.

Issues treated in individual therapy include anxiety, depression, stress, life transitions, relationship issues, personal growth, school issues, work/life balance issues, social anxiety/shyness, co-dependency, obsessive-compulsive disorder, eating disorders and body mage issues, and other adolescent and young adult mental health issues.

family therapy

Family therapy addresses communication problems, conflict/anger, dysfunctional family dynamics, family life stage challenges (new baby, adolescence, etc. ), blended families, illness, divorce, loss/grief. Family therapy can be with any combination of family members of the family, and may include different family members depending on the issue.

College Friends
ivy C2C

Ivy College To Career (C2C) program provides mentoring, guidance and counseling specifically designed to help college students succeed academically and socially so they can get the most out of college, earn a degree, and transition from college to a career.

free consultation

A free 15 minute virtual or phone consultation gives you the opportunity to see how it feels to talk to a therapist and ask questions that will help you decide if the therapist is a good fit for you. 

All services are now being provided virtually (phone or video).

Using insurance

Ivy Center accepts Blue Cross Blue Shield of Illinois PPO and Blue Choice, Cigna, and Aetna for therapy and counseling services. Fees and coverage are determined by the insurance companies based on the individual's insurance plan.*

Out-of-network

For those with insurance plans not listed above, Ivy Center provides "super bills" for clients to submit to insurance companies for reimbursement. Payment in full due at time of service.*

Private pay

Ivy Center offers private pay for clients that choose not to use their insurance, or don't have mental health or behavioral health coverage. Payment in full due at time of service.

*It is is suggested that clients check with their insurance companies to determine their deductible, fees, co-payment or out-of-network coverage for behavioral health or mental health services before the intake session.
